Robert Vernon Brewer, 88, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at the National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Those wishing to attend should meet at 10:45 a.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Robert was born on April 20, 1929, in Danville, IL, the son of Paul and Dorothy Brinton Brewer. He married Nancy Rank on September 3, 1986, in Las Vegas, NV. He retired from DeSaulniers Sales Department in 1979.
Robert was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and Korea. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, dogs, and martinis but not necessarily in that order.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Rank, Moline, IL; children, Vicki Duncan, West Plaines, MO, and Linda Pettyjohn, West Plaines, MO, Scott Rank, Las Vegas, NV, Craig Rank, Las Vegas, NV, Kimber Lohmann, Moline, IL; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Carolyn Siman, Ft. Wayne, IN, and Jane Halligan, Tampa, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Billie Brewer.
