Donald L. Bloomquist, 83, of Moline, formerly of Orion, died September 30, 2017, at Hope Creek Care Center, in East Moline, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family or favorite charity.
Donald was born on March 17, 1934 in Moline, the son of Fred Bloomquist and Edith Pritchard Bloomquist. He married Marilyn Jean Daniels on March 10, 1956, in Moline. Donald served in the Army. He had been employed as a combine repairman at Case IH, retiring in 1991 after 37 years. He enjoyed woodworking, going to the auction and Quad City Mallards hockey games, attending grandkids events, and family gatherings.
Survivors include his 3 favorite daughters DeAnna (Terry) Smith, Moline, Debra Carlson, Orion, IL, Dawn (Jeff) Johnson, Orion, IL; grandchildren Nicholas Smith, LeAnn (Trent) Ferguson, Travis and Trevor Carlson, Kylee and Karsyn Johnson; and a great granddaughter Karlee Ferguson.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, parents, his two brothers, Orville and Robert Bloomquist.
