Earla Marie Braun, 95, of Bettendorf, IA, formerly of Rock Island, IL, died Monday, September 26, 2016, at Iowa Masonic Health Facilities, Bettendorf, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Maynard Floyd Alzheimer’s Fund through the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Earla was born on July 25, 1921, in Canton, IL, the daughter of Earl and Mattie Macklin St. Clair. She married Theodore J. Braun in 1948, and he preceded her in death on February 1, 1987.
She worked as a dairy worker in Rock Island, IL, as a welder for Nuway Foundry, and later for St. Anthony’s. Earla loved cooking, dancing and music of all kinds. She was very active in the Rock Island Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ladies Auxillary 956.
Survivors include her children, Lyle T. (Vicki) Braun of Davenport, Iowa, and Nancy (Tom) Mazich of Sebastian, Florida; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren; brother, Ray St. Clair, Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughter-in-law, Sheron Banick of Amarillo, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; son, Earl Banick; granddaughter, Bridgette Marie; brother, Roy; 2 infant brothers; 3 sisters, Louise Gates, Mary Liedtke, and Martha Mulry.
