Gary Kenneth Price

Gary Kenneth Price, 81, of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 peacefully in his sleep at home.

A funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38 Avenue, Moline.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in his name.

Gary was born on December 12, 1935 in Modena, Illinois the son of Raymond L. and Grace I. Burns Price.  He married Donna J. Dallas on June 22, 1958 in Muscatine, Iowa.

Gary was an over the road truck driver for Roadway Express for 23 years retiring in 1997 and was a member of the Teamsters.  Gary was a faithful blood donor and supporter of both Honor Flight and Friends of Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery.  He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline where he enjoyed singing during services as well as with The Called, Gary was also active with the Methodist Men.  Gary loved life, he parachuted at 81 years of age, hunted morel mushrooms, helped all his grandchildren learn to drive and loved attending both their and great grandchildren’s sporting events and was very proud of his 3 grandsons that have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

Survivors include his loving wife, Donna; children, Steven (Cynthia) Price, Moline, IL, and Julie (Ron) Gelaude, Moline, IL; grandchildren, Christopher Johnson, Marshall Price, Summer Sloan, Braxton Gelaude, Joshua Price and Chase Gelaude; 7 great grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Barb Rowe, Milan, IL; and brother, Phil Price, Wyoming, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Todd Price; daughter, Lori Price; grandson, Kenneth Price and brothers, Bud and Mike Price.
