Lisa a. Hardesty Simaytis

June 10, 1971 — September 19, 2016

Lisa a. Hardesty Simaytis, 45, of Moline, IL, crossed through the gates of Heaven on Monday, September 19, 2016, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.  She will be lovingly greeted by her grandson, Kyle Shea and her father, David Shea.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Lisa was born on June 10, 1971, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Jean Hardesty and David Shea.  Lisa married Sean L. Simaytis in 1991.  They later divorced in 2003.

Lisa lived a very adventurous life.  Lisa enjoyed thunderstorms, the sun, the moon, elephants and most recently, Pow Wows.

Lisa is leaving behind a large loving family that will forever hold her memory in their hearts; mom, Jean Cornmesser-Alexander; stepdad, William Peterson; bonus dad, Donovan Hardesty; 3 very beautiful, independent children, Mason (Shawna) Shea, Eryn (Josh) Simaytis, and Sean (Amanda) Simaytis; brother, MSgt Anthony L. Hardesty, USAF (Ret.)(Missi); sister, Samantha (Brent) Alexander; 6 beautiful grandbabies, Nieja, Kyle, Ayden, Khloie, Bella, and Caleb; nieces and nephews, Danni, Joey, Tony, and Megan; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Lisa had a very special friend, Her “Breastie”, Krista Nunn-Sloan.  Lisa was preceded in death by her grandson, Kyle Shea, and father, David Shea.
