M. Elaine (Hall) Anderson

M. Elaine Anderson, 85, of Sherrard, passed away Thursday May 4, 2023, at her home.

A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion.  Visitation will be from 12 -1.  Burial will be at Sherrard Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Sherrard Fire Department.

Elaine was born on August 21, 1937, in Moline, the daughter of George B. and Mary Lorenston Hall. She married Ronald L. “Andy” Anderson on April 4, 1959, at First Lutheran Church, Sherrard. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2020.

Elaine was employed as an office manager starting with Fyre Lake, formerly known as Valhalla Enterprise and retired from Bornhoeft Heating and Air Conditioning in East Moline.  She was a past member of the First Lutheran Church, Sherrard Jr. Women’s Club, and Sherrard Fire Department Auxiliary.  Elaine also was a fish fryer for many years at the Sherrard Fish Fry.   Elaine enjoyed singing in the choir at the Church and was a member of the Chordbusters of the Quad Cities, where she traveled to Canada and Boston.  Above all was her true love for her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Christine (Neal) Gauley, Sherrard, Curt Anderson (Susan Cook), Sherrard, Clay “Boo” (Tracey) Anderson, Sherrard, 9 grandchildren, Summer, Eric, Jeff, Andy, Josh, Nick, Kristin, Hayley, Hannah, 8 great grandchildren and 1 on the way, and brother, Jerry (Delora) Hall, Reynolds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy, daughter-in-law, Deb Anderson, and her 2 sisters and brother.
