Mary M Doyle

Mary M. Doyle, 90, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline.  Burial will be at the National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal.  Memorials may be made to Rock Island County Animal Care & Control.

Mary was born on February 25, 1926, in Lynn, AR, the daughter of Lucian and Ora Hooten Lee.  She attended a one room schoolhouse in Riverside, AR.  She married Robert Doyle on September 27, 1942, in Strawberry, AR, and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2003.  She worked in several factories including Service Rubber, The Rock Island Arsenal, Alcoa, and John Deere.

Mary was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. during WWII.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and loved to go to yard sales.  Mary was a member of Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Moline, where she taught Sunday school.

Survivors include her daughter, Betsy (Allen) Snow, Venice, FL; sons, Stephen (Penny) Doyle, Aledo, IL, Ronald (Charlene) Doyle, Strawberry, AR, Charles (Marcia) Doyle, Lynn Center, IL, James (Kathleen) Doyle, Moline, IL, and Robin Doyle, Moline, IL; 15 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Carole Lee.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Rosewood Care Center as well as the hospice care unit at Trinity for their wonderful care and compassion.
