Randall "Randy" N. Mattson, 51, of Moline, IL, died Saturday, February 7, 2015, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to an educational fund for his children, set up in his name, at Deere Harvester Credit Union.
Randy was born on January 22, 1964, in Moline, IL, the son of Donald Gene and Marilee Martin Mattson. He married Kelly Driscoll on April 28, 1990 at First Christian Church in Moline, IL.
Randy was employed in packaging at Oscar Mayer for 21 years.
Randy's true passion was his family. He brought with him amazing talents that he passed down to all 4 of his boys. Anybody who knew him learned humor, wisdom, and laughter through Randy. He was never one to turn down anybody who needed help. He was a dedicated husband and loving father that could not be matched. From his father, he gained the knowledge of restoring cars and absolutely loved working with him on projects. He was a handyman that took on any project that was presented to him. He loved fishing and spending time outside. He was given a gift of a green thumb from his grandmother and enjoyed organizing the flowers and landscaping every spring. The past few years of traveling to Florida were some of his favorite trips.
His memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His boys are blessed to have had the time learning all that he could give them, in the time he had with them.
