A. Esther Hanger, 98, of Moline, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Friday, August 06, 2021, at her son’s home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, August 13, 2021, at First Evangelical Free Church, 3321 7th St., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Africa Inland Missions or UnityPoint Hospice.

Esther was born on December 31, 1922, in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Martin and Mabel (Swan) Triplett. She married Raymond Hanger on January 11, 1942, in Clarence, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1983. She retired from Sears Roebuck in Moline as manager and buyer of the lingerie department after over twenty years. Esther was a member of First Evangelical Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and deaconess. She was a talented seamstress who made her own clothes and she loved working on puzzles with her neighbor. Esther was a fabulous cook and was famous for her caramel rolls and pies. She will be remembered as a strong prayer warrior, devoted follower of Christ, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved doing for her family.
Survivors include her son, Ron (Karyn) Hanger; daughter-in-law, Julie Hanger; sister, Joyce Bowers; sister-in-law, Imogene Triplett; grandchildren, Greg (Jessica) Hanger, Gwen Hanger, Gretchen Hanger, Erik (Tracy) Hanger, Emily (Doug) Boblett; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Kyle, Brook, Kire, and Ava Hanger and Elijah, Sadie, and Isaac Boblett; step great grandson, Simon Shephard; step great granddaughter, Kaylee Moore; special friend, Lois Pearsall; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Ken Hanger, and brothers, J.W., Emory, Glenn, and Edwin Triplett.
