Albert D'Angelo, 93, of Hampton, died on July 16, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hampton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, with a Liturgy Service at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
Albert was born on February 25, 1919 in Naples, Italy, the son of Tito and Isolina Dellalena D'Angelo.
He married Lena Cardone on April 28, 1946 in New York.
Albert worked at Waldbaums in New York for 20 years and later moved to East Moline and was a manager at Geifmans, retiring in 1984. Albert served in the United States Army from the beginning to the end of WWII. Albert was an infantryman having participated in many notable battles. He was an artist who loved to use charcoal and pencils to sketch faces, landscapes, people, and movie stars. Albert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hampton and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
