Albert Paul Grchan, 89, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at St. Anthony's Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1307 17th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. There will be a Rosary Service at 10:45 a.m. preceding the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Garden. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island County Animal Shelter.
Albert was born on January 9, 1924, in Melcher, IA, the son of John H. and Philipina (Kauzlarich) Grchan. He married Lois Lemme on April 26, 1952, in Moline, IL, and she preceded him in death in 1969. He later married Lila Petersen Hudson in July of 1975 and she preceded him in death in December of 1982. For 32 years, he worked as a forklift operator for Case I.H., retiring in October of 1974. Albert was a United States Navy veteran having served during WWII. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Moline and a member of the East End Club. He was a former member of the Moline American Legion. Albert was a co-founder of and lifetime member of the Croatian Club. He enjoyed golf and fishing. Albert was a wonderful baker and loved sharing his chocolate pies and homemade bread with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; daughter, Gina; brothers, John and Steve.
