Albert Vercauteren, 85 of Milan died January 15, 2004 at his home.
A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m.Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #246. Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the family.
Albert was born January 12, 1919 in Belgium to Taefield and Cordula Duetshaver Vercauteren. He married Mary Jane Yeoward on June 1, 1946 at Sacret Heart Catholic Church, Moline. She preceded him in death in June of 1993.
Albert was a security guard for 25 years for the Rock Island Arsenal. He retired in 1978.
Albert was a WII Army veteran serving in the South Pacific.
