Alejandro "Alex" Gonzalez Sr.

Alejandro “Alex” A. Gonzalez Sr., 54, of Rock Island, passed away Monday August 26, 2024, at his home.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday September 5, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 412 10th Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday September 4, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

Alex was born on December 19, 1969, in Silvis, Illinois, the son of Dario M. and Victoria “Vicky” (Casando) Gonzalez. He was employed at Arconic, since 2012. Alex had a special love for his dogs. He was an avid Jeff Gordon and Lakers fan. Alex enjoyed driving his Mustang and having a cold jalapeno beer at Bent River.

Survivors include son, Shane (Amber) Gonzalez, mother, Victoria “Vicky” Gonzalez; grandchildren, Liliana, Aiden, Summer, Ashton, Aleah, Alahna, Elyla; siblings, Augie (Megan Alvarado) Gonzalez, Annette (Jose Aguilar) Gonzalez, Ruben (Norma) Gonzalez, Maria Gonzalez; goddaughter, Elisabeth Gonzalez; numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Alejandro “Alex” Jr., brother, Dario Jr., father, Dario and niece, Angelica “Chacha”.
