Alice M Corwin

Alice Madeline Corwin, 100, longtime resident of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at home, after a brief illness.

Alice was born on February 16, 1917, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Gustave and Rachel Landuit Bossuyt.  On September 12, 1936, she was married in Moline to Marvin Kuster Corwin.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin in 1978; her younger brothers, Joe and Maurice; and her first son, Robert, in 2001.  Survivors include her two other sons, Gary, from Camarillo, CA, and Mike, from Pasadena, CA; sister, Rose Mount, from Hull, GA; and at last count, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Alice was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Moline where she was a Heavenly Duster, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and, for several years, a volunteer who worked on the quarterly Bake Sale Drives.  She also participated in Moline Activity Center (MAC) activities, where she especially enjoyed playing Bingo.

In keeping with Alice’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no visitation or other burial services.  Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Alice will be buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Moline.
