Alice M. McKean

Alice McKean, 94, of Moline, IL, died Friday, March 10, 2017, at Silver Cross Health & Rehab, Rock Island, IL.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 4501 7 Avenue in Rock Island.  Visitation will be from 4-7 on Monday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38 Avenue, Moline.  Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the Church or to Rock Island Animal Care and Control.

Alice was born on August 7, 1922, in DeWitt, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Odell Doden Shaw.  She married Louie C. McKean, Jr. on June 11, 1949, in Rock Island, IL, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 1990.

Alice was a homemaker but in her younger years she worked in payroll for Servus Rubber and later at the Eagles Warehouse.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rock Island where she served on the Altar Guild and in her early years, she taught Sunday School.  She enjoyed doing yard work, doing word search and crossword puzzles as well as watching the news.  Above all, was her love for her grandchildren and spending time with family.
