Alice G Vinstrand

September 23, 1925 — February 25, 2017

Alice G. Vinstrand, 91, of Orion, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017, at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Augustana Lutheran Church, 628 6th Street, Andover, IL.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, 1301- 4th Street, Orion, IL.  Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge.

Memorials may be made to the Church or Genesis Hospice.

Alice was born on September 23, 1925, in Cambridge, IL, the daughter of Harry & Huldah Bengston Hutchinson.  She married Vernon L. Vinstrand on March 26, 1944 in Cambridge.  He preceded her in death on June 25, 2011.

Alice was a member of Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church in Andover.  She loved farm life in rural Osco with Vernon, her husband of 67 years.  Her greatest joy was caring for her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was known for her home-cooked meals.

Survivors include:

Daughters and sons-in-law:  Pat and Don Larson, Orion; Debbie Weber (deceased); Betty and Rich Nightingale, Orion; and Tim and Marie Weber, Coal Valley.

Grandchildren and Spouses: Tricia (Brian Johnson), Troy (Melissa) Larson, Dawn Larson (deceased), Jen (Aaron) Martin, Steve (Lia) Nightingale, Emily (Ben) Scott, Connie (Tim) Flowers, Jim Weber (deceased), Dan (Erica) Weber, Carrie Lamb, Michele Weber (Steve Enck), and Christi Weber (Johnny Alexander).

Great-Grandchildren:  Jake; Sophie and Emma; Bella, Jovey, and Drake; Tanner, Tyler and Jaide; Kenny and Kenna; Ezra, Isaac and Isabella; Gage and Lennon.

Survivors also include her sister, Shirley Longley of Coal Valley and sister-in-law Dorothy Anderson of Cambridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon; daughter, Debbie Weber; grandchildren, Dawn Larson and Jim Weber; and her brothers, Lester, Richard, and Gib Hutchinson.
