Allan Alvin Grant Gehn, 66, of Rock Island, IL, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Unity Point Health, Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Per his wishes cremation rites will follow and inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers Allan's wishes were for memorials to be made to his family for a fund to be established.
Allan was born on June 2, 1947, in Moline, IL, the son of Alvin J.F. and Charlotte Ann (Fells) Gehn. He married Mary Moriarity on June 17, 1989, in Scott County, IA.
Allan began working at Farmall and then for International Harvester. He later worked for JTPA and Family Resources. Currently, he was in Social Services for Families, Inc. He took pride in his Native American Heritage and enjoyed giving presentations about the culture. When his children were young, Allan was a Boy Scout Leader.
