Alma P. Lesthaeghe, 96, of Lynn Center, died May 22, 2009 at her home.
Rite of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Orion. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. with a rosary recited at 4 p.m. at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church.
Alma was born June 14, 1912 in Perryville, MO to John Henry and Clara (Schrenk) Neels. She married Arthur J. Lesthaeghe, Sr. on June 17, 1936 in East Moline. He preceded her in death on December 9, 1987.
Alma retired as a cook from Wells Elementary for the East Moline School district. She also worked at various restaurants in the Quad Cities.
Alma was a member of Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church where she was involved in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a lifetime member of East Moline VFW Auxiliary where she held many offices. She was an avid quilter and gardener and helped raised many children including her three nephews, grandchildren and great granddaughter Dayna.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Arthur J. Jr., grandson Jon, brothers Fred, Robert "Bud", Rudy, Adolph, Homer and a sister Mary Keener.
