Alvin N. Sundvall, age 88 of Moline died Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund, Orion.
Alvin was born October 15, 1916 in Orion, the son of Peter August and Marie Kullgren Sundvall. He married Pearl L. Peterson on October 30, 1938 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, IA. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2003.
Alvin was employed for 35 years at John Deere Harvester as a spot welder retiring in 1974. He also farmed in Orion for 29 years. He sold the farm and moved to Hot Springs Village, AK for a 10 year vacation returing to Illinois in 1985. Alvin was a World War II veteran serving in the Army in France, Germany and Belgium. He was a member of the UAW # 865 in East Moline.
