Alvina Lucile Markland, 91, of Joliet died Monday March 8, 2004 at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet.
Services will be 11:00 am Thursday March 11, 2004 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd., 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline.
Alvina Frels was born May 23, 1912 in Canoe Creek Township, IL to Alvin Theodore and Nellie Louisa Taggart Frels. She married Norman L. Markland on June 18, 1936 in Hillsdale, IL. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1985.
Alvina was a homemaker and also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was involved in Meditations Circle of the Kings Daughters. She was also a past president of the Hillsdale Grade School PTA. She was a volunteer at the Lutheran Hospital and enjoyed traveling.
