After 100 years Alvina "Faye" Olson left this world on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Visitation is Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Services are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial is at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice, Hope Creek Care Center, or Mighty Fortress Community Church, Rock Island.
Faye was born December 29, 1910 in Kensal, ND, the daughter of Grant and Susan "Birdie" Partlow. Her family moved to Moline where she met and married Clarence Albert Olson on May 19, 1931 at United Presbyterian Church in Moline. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1972.
Faye has worked in accounting at Quad City Speedway, Davenport Osteopathic Hospital and as Office Manager at Carson Pirie Scott. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, a Girl Scout leader and bowled on the Senior Citizens Leagues. She loved to sew, garden, play the piano, and the organ.
Survivors are Donna and (Marvin) Johnson, Dale and (Kay) Olson, and Mike Driscoll, husband of the late Bonnie Driscoll. She has 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a honorary nephew, Tom Schillinger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, parents, four sisters and five brothers.
