Amber M. Spearstone, 96, of East Moline, died August 13, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is handling arrangements.
Amber was born March 14, 1912 in Aurora, IL to Arthur C. and Lois C. (Horton) Zimmerman.
Amber graduated from the former Aurora College and Northwestern University. She was a journalist at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. She was the President of the Welcome Wagon, the Women's Bar Association of Rock Island County (attorney's wives) and Rock Island Women's Club. Ms. Spearstone also loved to read.
She is survived by
Daughter Amber Cardenas & grandchildren Rock Island
Sister Marian R. Smith Canton, OH
Special Friends Jerry and Betty Geiger East Moline
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Gene Zimmerman.
