Ana Maria Raya, 79, of Coal Valley, died Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Funeral Mass will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2011, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 412 10th St., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 Thursday with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Ana was born October 27, 1931 in Puerta del Monte, Gto., Mexico, the daughter of Felix Vera and Maria Ojeda. She married Leonardo Raya on May 5, 1951, in Puerta del Monte.
Ana was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting. She loved to be outdoors, especially in her garden where she tended to her flowers and vegetables. She loved raising her children in Mexico and moved to the U.S. in 1967.
