Anna “Dorothy” Mason, 86, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, June 16, 2016, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church in Moline or to Silver Cross Nursing Center.
Dorothy was born on February 18, 1930, in Ophiem, IL, the daughter of Arvid and Karin Nelson Anderson. She married Edward Mason on May 7, 1950, in Ophiem, IL, and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1999.
Dorothy was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Moline and Home Extension. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Catlett (Lawrence Williams), Silvis, IL; son, James (Sharon) Mason, Moline, IL; 3 grandchildren, Carrie (Rex) Pauley, Moline, IL, Ian Mason, Chicago, IL, and Caitlin (Spencer) Sanford, Moline, IL; 2 great grandchildren, Hunter Pauley and Olivia Pauley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Richard Anderson.
