Asbury Kenneth Ferry

Asbury Kenneth Ferry, 86 of Aledo died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #246, Moline. Memorials may be made to Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley or Trinity Pathway Hospice.
Asbury was born October 10, 1918 in Moline to William Maurice and Blanche Edith (Griffin) Ferry. He married Mildred Louise Larson on January 12, 1946 in Galesburg, IL. She preceded him in death on November 29, 1997.
Asbury was owner of Ferry Brothers All Service Gas Station. After retiring, he farmed in the Aledo area.
Asbury was a WWII Army veteran. He served in the Battery B 123 Field Artillery Battalion in the Pacific Theatre. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He enjoyed woodworking at his saw mill and was talented at storytelling and working with animals. He enjoyed being around people especially his friends and family.
