Aubrey Covault, Jr., 85, of Moline, IL, died Monday, June 6, 2016, at home.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Aubrey was born on June 29, 1930, in Moline, IL, the son of Aubrey Byron and Edith Mae Hannah Covault. He worked in the gas department for IA & IL Gas & Electric, which is now MidAmerican, for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He married Valerie Heaton on April 8, 1977, in Moline, IL. He was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. during the 1950’s.
Aubrey was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Temple in both Moline and Milan. In his younger years, he enjoyed woodworking and horses. He was an avid outdoorsman and reader of medical health journals. Aubrey loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his former wife and forever friend, Valerie Covault; daughters, Trisha Heaton Murphy, Stacy Heaton Houk (William) Brackett, Robin Heaton (Parr) Schoolman; grandchildren, Joshua Houk, Aubrey Murphy, Kody and Jarrett Brackett, Makenna, Myah, and P.T. Schoolman; beautiful and precious great granddaughter, Lillie Marie Houk; brothers, William (Elaine) Covault and Gary Covault; sister, Doris Bucherer; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Michael Swank.
