Audrey E. Stephens

Audrey Stephens, 90 of East Moline died July 6, 2005 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2005 at First Presbyterian Church, East Moline. Visitation will be Friday from 4-6 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the church where she was a member and an Elder.
Audrey was born in Savanna, IL to Phillip and Meta Rosenhauer Sharp on May 14, 1915. She married Charles Johnson in 1936. She later married John Stephens in 1955.
Audrey attended Savanna City Schools and was a graduate of Frances Shimer College, Mt. Carroll. She attended Northern Illinois State Teacher College at DeKalb, Moline Community College, Moline and Augustana College, Rock Island.
Audrey taught in a one room school in Carroll Co. and was Assistant Regional Superintendent of Schools there from 1939-1942. She taught at elementary schools in Savanna, Morrison, East Moline and Colona.
Audrey served as Secretary to the Superintendents of Savanna High School and the Bettendorf School Systems. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the National Dramatic Fraternity, Retired Teachers Association and the Quad City Bridge Club.
