Austin Rivera

Austin Michael Rivera, age 15, of Colona, lost his battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma due to complications with pneumonia Thursday, November 11, 2010 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is Saturday from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a rosary at 12:45 p.m. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Austin was born December 29, 1994 in Moline Public Hospital, the son of Ruth Gates and Julian "JP" Rivera.
Austin was a sophomore at UTHS. He played baseball as a freshman with the High School team. He was a member of the QC Hitmen and EM Titans traveling baseball teams. He also played on the freshman football team. Austin enjoyed playing X-Box, basketball and hanging out with his friends. He was an Iowa and Illinois fan. He enjoyed all kinds of music. Austin spent time wakeboarding and riding jet skis at the Lake of the Ozarks. He loved spending time with his family when they traveled on vacations. Above all else Austin loved spending time with his family and friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all Doctors, Nurses, and Hospital Staff that have helped along the way.
