Avenell Banfield Bos, 88, of Silvis, IL, formerly of East Moline, IL, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Aspen Rehab & Health Care, Silvis, IL.
The family will hold a private graveside service at Rose Lawn Memorial Estates. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the Rock Island County Animal Care & Control.
Avey was born on August 9, 1925, in Carlisle, IN, the daughter of Arch and Gertie (McSparin) Banfield. She married Richard W. Bos on December 15, 1943, in Moline, IL, and he preceded her in death on May 31, 1980.
Avey worked as a pocket matcher and union steward for 15 years at Seifert Clothing in Rock Island. She was a member of Union Congregational Church in Moline, IL, and a former member of the East End Club. Avey enjoyed fishing.
