Barbara L. Newell

Barbara L. Newell, 83, of Moline, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, at her home.

Per Barbara’s wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation.  A dinner celebration of life will be held with family at a later date.  Cremation rites will be accorded.  Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., is assisting the family.

Barbara was born on June 16, 1934, in Moline, the daughter of Ray and Viola File Kinkead.  She married Burt R. Newell on July 20, 1951 in Moline; he preceded her in death on April 20, 2008.  Barbara worked as a medical assistant at ORA prior to her retirement.  She enjoyed golfing, camping, reading, cooking and spending time with family.

Survivors include her children, Todd (Kathy) Newell, Moline, Sheri (Bob) Joseph, East Moline, and Chris (Randy) Lantz, Monmouth, IL; grandchildren, Megan Newell, Ian Newell, Morgan (Justin) Frederiksen, Ryan (Amy) Koresko, Courtney Koresko; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister, Sharon Kirby; and brother, Gordon Kinkead.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Burt, and her son, Mike Newell.
