Barbara (Brusco) Runco

Barbara Runco, 89, of Moline, IL, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38th Ave. Moline, IL.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.  Entombment will be at Moline Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Barbara was born on February 26, 1934, in Belmonte Calabro, Italy, the daughter of Rosa (Pellegrino) and Giuseppe Brusco. She married Domenico Runco on April 4, 1954, in Santa Barbara, Italy. Barbara was a member of the Catholic Church in Belmonte, Italy and St. Nicholas Parish in Fort Lee, New Jersey. She came to America with her husband in 1972. They resided in New Jersey and Florida prior to moving to Illinois.

Survivors include her sons Giuseppe (Maria) Runco and Franco (Alesha) Runco; daughters Rosa (Donald) Sonzoghi and Marisa Runco; 7 grandchildren Christina, Stefano, Jamie, Nick, Brittany, Joe, and Domenic; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Giuseppe and Rosa Brusco and siblings Teresa Guglielmo and Frank “Chicho” Brusco.
