Barbra W. Garey, age 84, formerly of Rock Island, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center, Rock Island.
Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to Christian Science Church. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family.
Barbra was born December 13, 1922 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of Wade and Bessie Belle (Andrews) White. She married Donald B. Loeser on February 13, 1943. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1963. She married John H. Frank on September 3, 1964. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1970. She married Howard P. Kraemer on January 31, 1978. Barbra then married Elmer A. Garey on January 15, 1983. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1983.
Barbra worked as an interviewer at Personal Marketing Research in Davenport for 20 years, retiring in 2006 because of her health. Barbra was a member of Christian Science Church. She truly enjoyed her work as a volunteer for many organizations including the Quad-City Visitors Bureau, The John Deere Classic, Special Olympics, Bix 7 and RSVP ( Retired Seniors Volunteer Program).
Survivors include daughter Polly Harder and grandson Donald of Rock Island; son-in-law Roger Fehling of Milwaukee and grandchildren Kenneth, Kevin and Karen; brother Lewis (Lois) White of Columbus, WI.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Rae Louise Fehling in April 2004.
