Ben Pulford, 77, of Hillsdale, IL, died Thursday, February 23, 2017, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2017, at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the family.
Ben was born on February 8, 1940, in Moline, IL, the son of Benjamin and Josephine Armistead Pulford. He married Karen S. Bumann on July 22, 1972, in Andover, IL. He worked as a material handler for John Deere PDC for 25 years, retiring in 2001.
Ben was active in drag racing and enjoyed fishing and raising all kinds of animals. He enjoyed riding his John Deere lawn mower and visiting with UAW members at the monthly dinners.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Pulford; children, Mike (Sue) Pulford, Davenport, IA, Craig (Marilyn) Pulford, Coal Valley, IL, Teresa Baker (Mike McCormick), Modesto, CA, Roger (Barb) Pulford, Hampton, IL, Rick (Amy) Pulford, Davenport, IA, Tony (Patty) Pulford, Sioux City, IA, Pam Pulford (Greg Bracksieck), Stockton, CA; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Mary Jo) Pulford, Moline, IL, Dale (Ruth) Pulford, Moline, Bill (Pauline) Pulford, East Moline, IL, Jim Pulford, St. Louis, MO, Ken (Debi) Pulford, Orion, IL, Betty Pulford (Tim Maginnis), Poplar Grove, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren, Teisha and Robbie Pulford.
