Bernatta "Short" Bridgman, 85 of Moline died February 25, 2006 at Ridgecrest Heath Center, Davenport.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2006 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital.
Short was born August 29, 1920 in Davenport to John Fisher and Velma (Kalsen) Hadley. She married Eugene Newberry in Buffalo, IA in June 1937. He preceded her in death. She married Roy B. Bridgman on July 27, 1974 in Davenport. He preceded her in death June 23, 2003.
Short worked at the East Moline Hospital in nursing services and later as a mental health technician. She then worked at St. Luke's Hospital as a CNA. She retired in 1979.
Short was a member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church, Davenport. She was a member of the Rock Island Eagle Auxiliary #956 where she was past president. She also served as the district secretary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, her three sons, Eugene, Larry and Dale Newberry, her daughter Judy Kay Davison, a step son Bill Bridgman, her sister Florence and her brother John Lincoln Hadley.
