Bert C. Johnson, Jr., age 86, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Trinity, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011 at First Evangelical Free Church, 3321-7th Street, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial is at Western Township Cemetery, Orion, IL.. Memorials may be made to First Evangelical Free Church Mission Work.
Bert was born February 8, 1925 in Moline, the son of Bert C., Sr. and Charlotte Washburn Johnson. He married Elizabeth J. Rosenthal on October 20, 1945 in Coal Valley. She preceded him in death on July 22, 2011.
Bert was employed as a assembly line worker for Farmall for 31 years. He was also a part time farmer. Bert was a member of First Evangelical Free Church in Moline. He loved to bowl.
