Betty Ann Armstrong, 75, of Silvis, IL, formerly of East Moline, IL, died Tuesday, April 04, 2017, at home after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1330 13th Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and burial of cremains will be at Davenport Memorial Park at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
Betty was born on April 16, 1941, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Frank and Sarah Asay Kapinski. She worked in the Electroplating Department for GE, retiring in 2001 and later worked as a packer and forklift operator for ADM, retiring on July 1, 2006.
Betty was a member of Iglesia San José Obrero Church in Moline and an associate member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, entertaining, and playing cards. Betty was a platelet donor and had donated 37 gallons. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Armstrong; 6 children, Barry (Linda) Kustes, Clinton, IA, Thomas (Lisa) Kustes, Ankeny, IA, Laura (Chad) Hultman, Atkinson, IL, Chris Kustes, Steward, IL, Lana (Brian Geerts) Otten, Davenport, IA, Andrew (Starla) Kustes, Sabula, IA; step children, Dean Armstrong, Helper, UT, and Virginia (Jeff) Daval, Néris-les-Bains, France; 23 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Florence; brother, Frank; son-in-law, Joe Otten.
