Betty M. Cox

Betty M. Cox, 89, of East Moline, passed away, September 24, 2024, in East Moline, IL.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, a no kill shelter in Milan, IL. 

Betty was born on May 5, 1935, in Platteville, WI, the daughter of Mildred M. (Kershek) and Armon O. Bancey. She married James L. Cox on January 29, 1955, in Moline, IL. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospital. Betty was a lifelong homemaker and caregiver.

Survivors include her children, Paula (Chris) Vargas, Mary Beth (Mike) Bale, and Laird Cox; grandchildren, Jesse, Kevin, Daniel, and Steven; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Daniel J. Cox and two brothers, Armon and Ron.
