Betty (Johnson) Larson

Betty Mae Larson, 94, of Orion, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at her residence.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Swedona Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow at the Swedona Lutheran Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd. Orion is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty was born on January 7, 1929 in Redfield, South Dakota to Ralph and Clara Moody Johnson.  She married Chester Edward Larson on September 8, 1948 in Davenport, Iowa and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2012.

Betty graduated from the Sherrard High School, she was a homemaker but she enjoyed helping around the farm with her husband; bailing hay, milking cows and other field work, it was hard work but very rewarding for her.  Betty was an active member of the Swedona Lutheran Church.  She was a great seamstress and enjoyed doing word search puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, reading, canning, gardening and going to yard sales.

Betty is survived by her children; Rose Larson, Dennis (Ann) Larson and Sharon DeWulf; granddaughter; Jennifer DeWulf.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son-in-law, Dick DeWulf.
