Betty Marie Maxson, age 82 of Moline, died Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Entombment is in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline.
Betty was born March 5, 1928 in Wapello, IA, the daughter of J. Russell and Marie (Crow) Bretz. She married Floyd G. Dotson on September 5th, 1948. He preceded her in death. She then married Vernon Maxson on May 19, 1951 in Wapello. He also preceded her in death.
Betty was self-employed as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, where she was the finance secretary, a member of UMW, and the Faith Circle. Betty loved to work, and especially enjoyed working for her clients. She enjoyed doing genealogy and was a member of the Genealogical Society. She was a member of the American Cancer Society where she was on the finance committee for Relay for Life. She also delivered for Meals on Wheels. Betty showed her love by cooking for people, but most importantly she was a selfless person that would go out of her way to do anything for anyone.
