Betty L. Mell, 87, of Forest Hill, East Moline, formerly of Rock Island, died February 15, 2008 at Forest Hill Health & Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be private. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Forest Hill Health & Rehab Center in East Moline. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family.
Betty was born March 6, 1920 in Chanderville, IL to Lloyd and Inez (Showalter) Shafer. She married Lawrence Mell on June 14, 1941 in Rock Island.
Betty was a nurses aid for the former Moline Public Hospital & retired from Frank Foundry in 1976.
She is survived by

Daughter Sherry (Glenn) Rousey
6 grandchildren 6 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Terry, daughter-in-law, Janice Mell
and her brother Lloyd Shafer.
