Betty A. Nelson

Betty A. Nelson, 82, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Orion on July 4, 2006 where she lived with her son and daughter-in-law.
Funeral services will be 2p.m Monday, July 10, 2006 at Beulah Presbyterian Church, Orion. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. with a OES service at 4:30 p.m. conducted by Order of the Eastern Star #93, Orion at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.
Betty was born January 10, 1924 in Mercer County, IL to Samuel and Roxie (Durney) Marks. She married Gerald D. Nelson on December 10, 1945 in Preemption. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2000.
Betty lived and worked on the family farm. She retired from John Deere, Milan.
Betty was a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church, Orion. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #93, Orion.
Betty loved life and enjoyed being with her family. She suffered from Alzheimer's but continued to be as active as possible with her family until the end.
