Betty Rae Milroy

Betty Rae Milroy, 87, of Moline, passed away at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline on Sunday, November 3, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd.  Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105).

Betty was born to Raymond R. and Edith (Sherman) Rambo, on January 4, 1932, in Galesburg, Illinois.  She married Donald Milroy on April 26, 1953, in Victoria, Illinois.  Betty worked as a Directory Assistance Operator at Illinois Bell, then she was an Administrative Assistant at the Rock Island Arsenal.  She retired in 1994.

Betty enjoyed photography and computers.  She was a member of Riverside United Methodist church for over 60 years.  Betty loved spending time with her family and her dog, Gregor.

Survivors include her husband, Donald; children, Sue (Bob) Siltman, Jon (Cindy) Milroy; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jenny) Milroy, Joshua Milroy, Emily (Noel) Powers, Cassie (Shaun) Thurwanger, Ben Siltman, and Dan (Rachel) Siltman; 12 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her siblings, Beverly Kilgore, and Ray Rambo, both of Galesburg, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Edith Roraback, Fran Snodgrass, Marjorie Kulie, Geraldine and Gerald Burkhalter.

The family extends their appreciation to Hope Creek Memory Care Staff and Compassus Hospice for their loving care of Betty.
