Betty J. Seales, 77, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Betty was born on June 25, 1936, in Hamilton, AL, the daughter of William Lloyd and Altha Marie (Jeffreys) Warren. She married Herschel Wayne Seales on August 6, 1951, in Fulton, MS, and he preceded her in death on April 22, 2006.
Betty worked at the old Modernistic motel/restaurant in Moline and McCabe's Department Store in downtown Rock Island. She also worked at Zayre in Rock Island, one of the early "Wal Mart" type stores and for a time she had a small hair salon at her home. She retired from International Harvester after 20 years before moving from Illinois back to her native Alabama in the early 1980s where she worked and retired from Arvin Muffler in Fayette, Alabama. After her retirement she enjoyed and became known for making and selling Quillows, a blanket/pillow combination she designed. Betty enjoyed reading biographies, sewing, and cooking. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, and watching birds. Betty enjoyed music and loved singing with her family.

Sister Peggy (Jim) Franks Port Byron, IL
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jacky; and brother, Harold.
