Beverly Lucille Bartels

Beverly Lucille Bartels, lovingly referred to by her family as "The Warden", 86, of Moline, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 at the funeral home.  Burial will be at the National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Bev was born on March 26, 1933, in Wilton, Iowa the daughter of Charles and Theresa Reimers Bailey.  She married Leo Bartels on October 24, 1953, in Rock Island.  He preceded her in death on August 23, 2015.

Bev was retired from AT&T as a toll operator.  She was a member of Adventure Christian Community and Order of the Eastern Star.  Bev enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and bingo games.  She also enjoyed gardening, jewelry making, cooking but most of all was her love for her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Leo; 4 brothers and 7 sisters; including Shirley J. Cocquit, her best friend, confidant and partner in crime; parents, Charles and Theresa and son-in-law, Bill Attwood.
