Bill Teichman

November 15, 1931 — May 1, 2018

William “Bill” H. Teichman, 86, of East Moline, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 555 18th Ave, East Moline.  Visitation will be Sunday, May 6, 2018, from 2-4 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Ave., Moline.  Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate in Moline, where military honors will be conducted by the Quad Cities Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 168.  Memorials may be made to the family.

William was born on November 15, 1931 in Aledo, IL, the son of Victor and Ruth Kindelsperger Teichman.  He married Barbara M. Schell on July 3, 1954 in Moline; she preceded him in death on November 30, 1995.  He later married Sally Whitbeck on May 10, 1997 in East Moline.  Bill worked as an electrician at IBEW Local #145 for 64 years.

William was a veteran, having proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association for 17 years and the American Legion Post 227 for 48 years.  He also belonged to the VFW Post 2153 and Amvets Post 145.  Bill was the president of the 1503rd  A.T.W.

Survivors include his wife, Sally; son, Dennis (Linda) Teichman of Colona, IL; daughter, Kathy Teichman of Colona; Sally’s children, Karen Whitbeck and Lynda Nathenson; grandchildren, Amanda (Ron) Stablein, Jessica Teichman, Dwayne Teichman, Melissa (Ryan) Sweeney, Derek (Nikki) Teichman, Victoria (Stephen) Meyers, Emily Teichman, and Ryan and Justin Nathenson; and great grandchildren, Abi, Emersyn, Garrett, Alex, and Iris.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Barbara Teichman; son, Curtis Teichman; parents, Victor and Ruth Teichman; and brothers, George and Jerry Teichman.
