Blanche B. Bocox, age 97 of Moline, formerly of Galesburg and Sherrard, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. 1301-4th Street, Orion. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment is in Mountain View Cemetery, Altadena, CA. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church Building Fund, Sherrard.
Blanche was born May 15, 1909 in Galesburg, the daughter of Edd and Maude (Hilligoss) Peterson. She married John Verner Swanson on December 31, 1932 in Los Angeles,CA. He preceded her in death in August, 1967. She later married Carl E. Bocox on October 15, 1969 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2006.
Blanche was employed as a secretary at the Bob McCallister Insurance Company in Los Angeles. After moving to Galesburg, she was employed as a secretary at the former Weber, Griffith, & Millikin Architectural & Engineering Firm. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Sherrard, and was very active with the Methodist Church in Arkansas. She enjoyed fishing , dancing, crocheting and being with the Women's Group in Galesburg.
