Blendina "Blondie" A. Jackson, 95, of Lynn Center, IL, died Friday, April 05, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1402 10th Street, Orion. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. with a Rosary Service following at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. In lieu of flowers masses may be said in her honor at Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.
Blondie was born on April 27, 1917, in Hooppole, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Dhamers) Hoogerwerf. She married Doc E. Jackson on June 12, 1937. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1989. Over a 30 year period Blondie worked as a bookkeeper for Jackson & Jackson Attorney at Law and also Augie and Earl's Chevrolet, retiring in 1990. Prior to that she was a Deputy Sheriff for Rock Island County. She was a former member of Christ the King Catholic Church and their funeral choir. Most recently, she was a member of Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church as well as the Altar & Rosary Society. Blondie belonged to both the Silvis and East Moline American Veteran Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Vikings and Friends Circle. She enjoyed playing cards. Blondie was a Girl Scout Leader and loved making quilts for her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Nadine; brother; and sister.
