Bonnie J. Carlson

Bonnie J. Carlson, 95, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away, December 20, 2024, at The Summit of Bettendorf.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday January 4, 2025, at First Covenant Church, Moline. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Bonnie was born on February 20, 1929, in Moline, the daughter of Claude and Ruth (Anderson) Edlund. She married Kenneth L. Carlson on June 11, 1949, in Moline. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2003. Bonnie was a member of First Covenant Church. She was an avid reader and a devoted and loving homemaker. Bonnie had a love for music, playing the marimba all of her life.  She loved spending time with her family and friends. Bonnie was very kind to all, gave generously, and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Lon Carlson, Largo, FL, Linda (Peter) McFarland, Dillon, MT, Sharon Smith, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Poppy Sandoval, FL, Shayla (Vijay) Holub-Sachdev, Plano, TX, Christy (Chad) Bulman, Bettendorf, Kelci (Chip Edelen) McFarland, Butte, MT; and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ken; grandchildren, Jon and Estelle Carlson; and brother, Jerry Edlund.
