Bruce Wayne Parker, 67, of Coal Valley, IL, died Monday, November 21, 2016, at home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1611 41st Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with a private family celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for an educational fund for his grandbabies.
Bruce was born on August 30, 1949, in Moline, IL, the son of Harlan and Frances Meincke Parker. In 1967 he graduated from United Township High School. He married Sharon Shepard on June 7, 1969, in East Moline, IL. He worked as an assembler for H.C. Duke, retiring after 37 years.
Bruce was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He liked working on cars with his friend, Dick. He especially enjoyed watching stockcar races, the Blackhawks, and the Cubs. Bruce loved playing cards with family and spoiling his “Grandbabies”.
Survivors include his wife of 47 wonderful years, Sharon Parker; sons, Jason (Jennifer) Parker and Chad (Brandi) Parker; grandbabies, Victoria, Trower, and Emma; siblings, Ron (Leta), Roger (Carol), Deb (Steve); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Frances, and sister, Nancy.
