Burdette “Lee” Elbert Lavine, 86, of Erie, IL, died Friday, March 31, 2017, at home.
A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at the National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal, where military honors will be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post 246. For those wishing to attend, please meet at 8:45 a.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline.
Burdette was born on March 17, 1931, in Moline, IL, the son of Maurice and Drusilla Koob Lavine. He served four years in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Cabot, U.S.S. Oriskany. He married Ann Di Benedetto on December 21, 1950, in Brooklyn, NY. He retired from Case I.H. in 1993 as chairman of U.A.W. Local 1306.
He is survived by his wife, Ann and children, Joyce (David) Hawes of Fulton, IL, Jason (Tammy) Lavine of Florida, Dan Lavine and Linda Wuerzburger of Erie; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and a loving sister and her husband, Beverly and Wayne Forgie of Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Judy Dohogne; and sons, John and Joe and a sister, Betty Hungate.

He couldn’t have gotten any better and loving care than he received from his family: Dan, Carry, Joyce, Lisa, Jim, and Vicki.
